Worship Planning Team
The Worship Planning Team assists Pastor Brown in the planning of Sunday morning services, as well as all special services at Village Chapel United Methodist Church (VCUMC). There are eight sub-teams that make up the Worship Planning Team. Each team has a specific ministry area that focuses on achieving the VCUMC mission statement which is “United by His Love and Empowered by His Spirit, We will Reach Out and Raise Up Disciples for Jesus.”
- Flower Team - The flower team is responsible for organizing and/or purchasing flowers for worship services at VCUMC. The Flower Team is led by Janice Sheets.
- Acolyte Team - The Acolyte Team is responsible for the recruitment and organizing of volunteers to light the altar candles during Sunday morning services as well as special services. The team leader for the Traditional Service is Sandy Wilson and the team leader for the Contemporary Service is Vicki Rathburn.
- Usher Team - The Usher Team is responsible for the distribution of bulletins, collection of offering, and attendance count. In addition, the ushers will assist in seating as needed. The Traditional team is led by Sandy Wilson and the Contemporary team is led by Barb and Dan Litzinger.
- Communion Team - The Communion Team is responsible for the purchase and preparation of bread and juice for the monthly communion service held at VCUMC. The Traditional team is led by Marty Mathers and the Contemporary team is led by Nancy Claibourne.
- Sound Technician Team - The Sound Team is responsible for sound at all VCUMC worship services. In addition, the Sound Team will handle sound needs at special events such as weddings, funerals, movie nights, etc.. The sound team is led by Alan Gribler and Mike Hartman.
- Altar Guild Team - The Altar Guild Team is responsible for the maintenance and decoration of the altar in the Family Life Center and the Chapel. In addition, the altar guild handles the seasonal decorations for VCUMC. The altar guild team is co-led by several members of VCUMC. For more information, please contact Doug Riddle at 614-260-1191.
- Logistics Team - The Logistics Team is responsible for the set-up and tear down of all chairs and tables at VCUMC. This team consists of three co-leaders who recruit and organize weekly volunteers and handle all worship services and special services. The co-leaders are Teresa Spencer, Dick Schrader, and Jack Smith.
- Drama Team - The Drama Team is responsible for organizing drama for Sunday morning services as well as special services held at VCUMC. This team is currently in search of a leader. Any volunteers can contact Doug Riddle at 614-260-1191.
The Worship Planning Team is very blessed to have the current volunteers involved in our ministries. That being said, as our church continues to grow in our worship efforts, we will have to continue to add volunteers to our team.
